Seaview Resort - facilities - written on the 7th Jan 2010 - 15:40 - Message #1
Happy New Year to all Does anybody have an update on Seaview Resort? The last we was told, was that the facilities would be completed for the commencement of this summer by Medview! This was to include both the outdoor & indoor swimming pools and the additional facilities as promised! Can anybody confirm if the work has commenced, and is likely to meet the deadline of April as promised ready for the forthcoming season? Any update would be appreciated! Obviously, it is going to make a difference to the possibility of renting our property out or not, we now have opportunitys for many bookings, but do not wish to accept bookings, if the facilities we have been promised have not been completed! |

Seaview Resort Facilities - written on the 7th Jan 2010 - 22:04 - Message #2
Hi Nige, happy new year to you and your family. I spoke with Martin today regarding these facilities as we were considering visiting our apartment over the easter period, he informed me his last update was that these would be completed by this summer, he could not confirm if this is still the case, but has promised to receive an update and come back to me. We of course are disappointed and have now decided not to visit this easter, and hope that work will soon commence. I will keep you informed of any update I receive.

Seaview Resort Facilities - written on the 8th Jan 2010 - 12:30 - Message #4
Unfortunately Nige it will not be this easter, maybe not this summer but hopefully sooner rather than later, then yes we will definately have a beer by the pool. I would be interested to hear the thoughts of anyone over in Cyprus on any information/rumours as to what they believe is happening with the developments facilities.

What do I believe? - written on the 8th Jan 2010 - 21:11 - Message #6
Do I believe the facilities will be completed this year? I honestly do not know. What I do believe is Seaview Resort will be a tremendous place when the facilities are completed, and the remaining unsold units and future units will be in demand. I also believe that those who have purchased with a view to rent out will have plenty of opportunity to do so. There must be others who have a view on this, What do you believe? I welcome the opportunity to have a general discussion with anyone who has honest views.

Totally agree - written on the 9th Jan 2010 - 0:06 - Message #7
I totally agree with you Harry, I have no compliants with the quality of the build, the apartments have met our expectations, must admit we had a few snagging problems, but nothing that couldnt be sorted, and to be fair Medview, reacted very well to any request to have these dealt with! We have been fortunate to let our apartment out, and everybody who has used it, have been impressed, and have contacted us to re-book it for this year, and we do have further opportunitys through word of mouth to have it rented out for the majority of the summer, if that is what we chose to do! The problem that we have is, we dont feel we can charge the rental price that we could or should do, without a pool and the facilities that we have been promised! The friends and family that would be renting the property from us, we would hope like us would return each year, so first impressions count, and at the moment unfortunately the piece of wasteland where the pools should be, looks more like Basra! Like you say Harry, when it is fully complete, it will be fantastic, but at the moment it is not, and I cant see the facilities being completed as promised for this summer, because no work has commenced as yet! If we dont get the facilities completed, it will just be a block of flats in the sun! This wont offer the full holiday package, to be able to gain the rental income as initially believed! So lets hope these facilitys get completed, sooner rather than later!

Glad that there is some chat finally about Seaview. I'm going there for first time in Feb. I haven't seen any photos of the site - is that because it looks so awful?? I'll be taking photos when I get there and will try to upload them on this site,,

Seaview - written on the 29th Jan 2010 - 19:41 - Message #13
Hi Susan, The apartments look good, and are built to a good standard, so if its your first time, I think you will be impressed with what you do see! Its just the facilities that are missing, which if & when are completed would nicely finish Seaview off! It would be nice to see some updated photos, if you get chance to take some! While their you must try one of Appo's & Dogen's Chicken saute dishes at the Hilltop bar, that will certainly make you smile!

Seaview Resort facilities - written on the 5th Feb 2010 - 11:15 - Message #14
Hi This has us confused since we have bought an apartment on the Emerald block and have been assured that there are already swimming pools on the development and just waiting for the new ones to be finished now. Can anyone confirm how many pools are at present useable on Seaview please? We are hoping to visit perhaps in March.

Confirmed there are pools - written on the 5th Feb 2010 - 22:26 - Message #15
Just had a message from the Developers to confirm that there are already pools. Even had lovely photographs sent to us to prove their point. The olympic sized pool is about to start construction and that is why the bulldozer is now on site. Very kind of them to bother setting our minds at rest.

Seaview - written on the 25th Feb 2010 - 17:02 - Message #18
Hello Jan Don't know where you are getting your information from but there are no pools on Seaview Resort and nothing has been started as yet. There are communal pools however on "Hilltop" which is adjacent to Seaview resort and because your facilities have not been started, you are allowed to use the pools at Hilltop . That's why some of your maintainence fee apparently goes towards the Hilltop pools so that you can use them until you have your facilities. Shaun and I have an apartment on hilltop and have been living here since Oct 2008.So if you want an update please feel free to ask. Terri

Cheers Terri, - written on the 27th Feb 2010 - 14:06 - Message #19
Hi Terry, Thanks for the update on Seaview resort, I cant believe that the building work still hasnt started on the facilities for Seaview, this was promised to be completed for the end of April 2010! Seems like a lot of promises, but no action! Whats worse nobody as even made contact to explain or tell us that the facilities are not being completed for this year as promised! Does this mean that we dont have to pay maintenance fees for this year, if their is nothing to maintain?

SeaView - written on the 27th Feb 2010 - 15:10 - Message #20
Medviews reply will be that you have cleaners, use street lights etc so you must pay some maintenance. Also many SeaView owners use the Hilltop Simphony pool at the rear of the Simphonys, the Olympic pool by the bar and the sun beds so fees need to be paid for that. It is annoying for everybody. You were promised the pool to be completed by last summer and again by this summer. I realy feel for all SeaView owners at the moment as not only do you not have a pool but you have a piece of waste land to look over! The only thing that I can suggest is that you all keep pestering Medview over the issue. The only good thing is that it is lovely meeting up with all the different owners round the pool, even if it means a dash for the sun beds.

Hilltop pools - written on the 27th Feb 2010 - 19:36 - Message #21
Whilst not wishing to put a damper on things, I feel obliged to point out that my understanding was, that the latest ruling on communal pools, stated that the communal pools at Hilltop were for the exclusive use of the properties immediately adjacent to them. You can of course use the Olympic pool by the Medview office as this is for all. If you wish to check this ruling you need to contact Martin Clitheroe at Medview office or on this Board. I am just pointing this out so as to avoid possible future disagreements, and I wish the best for all Seaview residents and hope you get your facilities soon.

Pools at SeaView - written on the 1st Mar 2010 - 12:56 - Message #22
Peter is quite right, the only communal pool is the so called olympic pool above the bar. All other pools are for the sole use of the properties immediately adjoining them. Be supprised, no, flabergasted if any form of pool is built at Sea View in the next few years, if at all.
